I'm back from Byron and ang daming cuento but I may need some time to recover. It was my greatest live music experience thus far (save for the Jason gigs because those are special and are on a league of their own). In the meantime, photos are here if you want to have a look. :)

Also, an important update for everyone back home... It looks like I'm not catching up with any of you this week. To cut the long story short, I've had to postpone my trip to May. I'm pretty annoyed because I organised everything in advance but some things are just beyond my control. We'll have plenty of time to catch up next month though. Until then, I'll probably catch you on instant messenger.

PS - I think I'm the only person I know who has yet to see 300. Who wants to watch it again with me?

Yep, I saw them all there. :) There were so many other acts to see but I suppose one can only do so much. I did enjoy the gigs that I was able to watch though. I had been wanting to go to this festival for three years now and having waited this long, I'm quite happy that it didn't disappoint. I must admit that I was a tad disheartened when DMB, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Feist pulled out. Go Gol Bordello even cancelled at the last minute. But the gains outweighed the losses and a great time was had by all. I'm still on a bluesfest high and heaps of thoughts are buzzing through my head. There were far too many notable highlights - a long overdue catchup with Mich, an interesting encounter with some Brazilians, wading through mud at the festival grounds, Paolo Nutini remembering me, Jack Johnson's surprise gig, Ozomatli bringing the batucada to the crowd, the best breakfast after mass on Easter Sunday, John Butler's flawless performance, finding Langos where I least expected them to be, eating chips for the first time in almost 2 months, shower stalls in the hostel, socialising with other backpackers, constant rain in Byron Bay, etc. etc.

I think I'm going again next year. Keen?

DMB in April, actually. :) Thank God for good concert karma. I'm totally loving this. :D

I've been planning to go to Bluesfest for ages but have had unsuccessful attempts for the last three years. Other holiday plans crept up in 2004. In 2005, I missed DMB (among others) cos I had to attend to important personal matters but that was all good. And just last April, friends piked and left me with nobody to go with. I would've still gone but it was already too late to organise anything.

Anyway, I made my mind up and bought an early bird 5-day pass as a birthday present to myself a few months back. I've booked my flights as well. I'm going by myself at the moment but I'm sure the following list will generate some interest from my lovely friends. :) 

So... are you Byron Bay-ing with me in April?
